From Crack House to Pimp House
Exterior Demolition
The plan was to build the new pier and grade beam foundation first before demoing the entire house. The only portion of the existing footprint of the house that was in the way of the new foundation perimeter was the sunroom so we demoed that first. The sunroom was basically a room for our dogs to play and roam around in.
Interior Demolition
All the concrete patios and sidewalks surrounding our home were jackhammered into rubble to clear the way to start drilling the holes for the concrete piers that would make up our new pier and grade beam foundation. It was time to start demolishing the living quarters - the first floor of our former home, consisting of the kitchen, the dining area, the living room and downstairs bathroom.
Roof Demolition
The only structure left remaining was the two story element from our bi-level home which were three bedrooms built on top of the garage. You can see where the remaining structure that was suppose to be salvaged stood in relation to the first floor that we had demolished. By this time, we had moved out into a cramped one bedroom apartment.
